**Spoiler: the blurb for this one has spoilers for the
previous book and it’s pretty hard to discuss this one without including minor
spoilers, however, I don’t think anything you read here will ruin your
enjoyment of this series if you haven't read it yet*

From the blurb: They’re back... and this time they’re hungry. The good news: Bobby survived her unreal school trip. The bad news: her best bud Smitty is missing, there are undead everywhere and they’re getting hungrier... It’s a no brainer. Somehow she must find some living friends – and the antidote – before everyone’s toast.
Unfed is the sequel to Undead and is set six weeks later.
Bobby wakes up in a hospital room to find that her mother is dead. Then another
zombie attack occurs and she manages to escape. Bobby is determined to find
Smitty using the clues left for her.
I picked up Undead last year when I received Unfed for
review and I was so glad I did. The first book was a hilarious romp through
Scotland featuring a gang of teens and lots of zombies. The sequel was just as good;
there were plenty of laughs as well as more zombies.
Bobby is still her funny, witty self and I really enjoyed
her story. McKay has created such a realistic teen character in Bobby, and I liked
her personality and use of Brit-slang. The secondary characters were also enjoyable, but I won't name them, it'll keep you guessing about who did or didn't survive the first book.
The story was hilarious, despite also being creepy, in
particular the first half of the book in which Bobby is pantless making her situation even more amusing. I did find one major aspect obvious from
the very beginning, and I thought it was odd that Bobby didn't pick up on it,
but the story still contained plenty of mystery. Again there were scenes that made me think of Shaun of the Dead, and another scene that reminded me of The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, and I think these books will appeal to a wide range of readers.
The ending felt a tad rushed but I was happy with the outcome
and all I could think was “there better be a bloody sequel!” (no pun intended!)
Unfed is a fantastic, thrilling, hilarious sequel to Undead.
Check this series out, even if you’re not a fan of zombie books, I guarantee you'll get a laugh out of it.
Thank you to the lovely people at Scholastic for my review
copy.

Sounds like a fun book. I like witty characters and humorous stories sometimes...and I am a fan of zombies. :) I'm glad this is one series you enjoyed.

Yay! I'm so glad that the sequel is just as good as the first book, Mandee! I really DO need to pick up this series ASAP, especially since it sounds like the perfect read to curl up with for a good laugh. Wonderful review, as usual, dear! :)
Sounds good! though I still don't get the appeal of zombie books, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet soon and try one out.
Ha! It's a no brainer. I love cheesy sayings <3
I've never heard of undead. lol. I thought when you were going to say creepy you were going to describe this dark, disturbing situation but no. Someone's pantless. Shaun of the Dead? Interesting but also the Dark Tower. There both pretty different so I get a sense this isn't just a really funny book but serious too. I like it more for it's funny nature. I may have to see how the first book is.
I skimmed your review since I DO plan to read this! I'm so glad you liked this as much as the first book, it sounds like something that I'll enjoy<3 Hopefully I'll get to it soon... :)
I wish this was out in Canada! I loved the first book so much. *tries to wait patiently for September*
Oooh, Brit-slang. Count me in. haha. This sounds like a great zombie book.
I shall be off to check out Undead now! :)
Awesome review, Mandee!
I haven't read either of these, but glad you are enjoying Mandee.
Happy reading,
Brandi @ Blkosiner’s Book Blog
Ooh a zombie series with a sense of humor? That's my kryptonite! I love love love Shaun of the Dead. I really must read this series!
I love Brit slang and a romp around Scotland sounds fun! I'm not the biggest zombie fan but humorous zombie's can be a lot of fun!
A creepy AND funny story? 0.0 Sign me up! I love zombie books so I can't wait to get my hands on this. Lovely review, Mandee. :D
I had better start harrassing the folks at Scholastic for a copy. I really enjoyed Undead. I like that this has elements of SK Dark Tower and SHaun of the Dead. I am guessing there must be another dreaded cliffhanger...ugh!
I was told to read this series by a pal who heard i loved zombies. I am glad I found your review.
I am now heading to get book1 right away on my kindle (if possible). I swore I wouldnt buy ONE book this weekend.
You know what? Im buying a file not a book I can rationalize it..lolz..
