Stacking the Shelves is a feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's a way for bloggers to share the books we received/purchased/borrowed during the week

Vlog:

Mentioned:

This week I received a fantastic parcel from Jasprit! We did a book swap because there were a bunch of Aussie YA books that she wanted and in return she surprised me with some books off my wishlist + a cute English teddy bear key chain! Thank you, Jas xox

Don't Breathe a Word by Holly Cupala
The Space Between Us by Jessica Martinez
Being Friends with Boys by Terra Elan McVoy

And I went back to the library so I could finally get book six in the Tomorrow series, The Night is for Hunting by John Marsden. I also picked up two more books in the Girlfriend Fiction series: Always Mackenzie and Winter of Grace both by Kate Constable.

Also, if you're interested in participating in the Australian Women Writers 2013 Reading & Reviewing Challenge, you can sign up here! All you need to do for the challenge is read, or read and review, books written by Australian women, then link your reviews on the challenge website.

Mandee, that is a fantastic box of books you got from Jasprit! I loved Martinez's debut, Virtuosity, so I have her sophomore novel as well and I hope it's equally as good. I thought she was a fantastic author, so I can't wait to see what you think! Also, good luck with the audiobook! I remember my first audiobook was Feed by Mira Grant and it was horrible. The narrator was just so obviously bored and read too slowly as well, so I switched to the book and wound up really liking it, but I hope your audiobook improves! Enjoy your Aussie weather, dearest! :)

P.S. - I am SO sorry I haven't replied to your e-mail yet! I intend to get to it today, so I really am terribly sorry about the delay! :/

Aww, what a lovely surprise! I love the cover for Being Friends with Boys, it's so cute. I don't think I've come across it before so I'll have to check it out on GR! :D

Happy New Year. <3

FIRST OFF: I want an English Teddy Bear! That thing is just adorable. <3 Those contemporaries look so cute! I can't wait to see what you think about The Space Between Us. Lovely haul, Mandee! Happy reading. :)

Being Friends with Boys looks delicious. I would just read it because of that cover and also because it's close to the title of this great graphic novel : Friends with Boys.
Never heard of the Girlfriend series but I'm drawn to their book covers. Winter of Grace looks and sounds the most appealing.

Daww, the teddy is adorable! These look like great books!! I've never seen Being Friends with Boys before, but it seems like a cute contemporary read. Lovely haul this week, happy reading!

Fantastic books this week. They all sound super fantastic. Too bad the Sisterhood books are bad as audios, they are super fun reads. Well, hope you enjoy these ones. Happy Reading! (Jealous of your hot days)

Oh! Don't Breathe A Word is great and painful and sad and will put the pieces of your heart back together again.

AND! Being Friends With Boys! I loved that book, it's a decent contemporary.

Happy reading :-D

Ooh, so many lovely books, Mandee! I loved Jessica Martinez's debut, so I'm very keen to see what you think of The Space Between Us. Oh, and Being Friends With Boys. I kind of want to check that one out, but I'd like to read your review first! Happy reading, Mandee. :)

Mandeeeeeeee! I don't get to see all of your vlogs -- I'm always checking at the wrong time when I don't have headphones, or I'm at work, or I'm trying to be all ninja about what I'm doing while watching a DVD with Nick, so this is the first I've actually been able to watch all the way through in a couple of months and I LOVE IT. And I mean, it's kind of stupid because I'm Australian, but I love hearing you talk :P

THOSE TWO HARDCOVERS ARE GORGEOUS. LIKE WHOA.

And LIEBERRY! Lauren mentioned she saw you last week! Hope you have some VERY haooy reading ♥

I hadn't heard about the Jessica Martinez's book, I love the cover actually.

I hope you enjoy all your books :D

That Paddington Bear card is too cute, and so is the keychain! You got some really great looking books this week, Mandee! I hope you enjoy them all!

What a fun parcel from Jasprit! Don't Breathe a Word exceeded my expectations. Hope you like it too. The other books also look eye catching.

Bummer about the slow-reading audio narrator :( I hate when that happens. When you listen on the audible app you can speed up the narration, and I do use it quite a bit.

Have a great week and happy reading & listening! Enjoy the hot weather :)

Don't Breathe a Word was amazing! I just grabbed The Space Between Us. I loved Virtuosity so I'm excited to read it! I will come back to watch the video, I'm putting kids to bed...

Oh. You can NEVER go wrong with hot pink. It's always the perfect decision, let's face it. Nothing is as fun as something that's hot pink.

ALSO: There's nothing like the guilt that another blogger can place in your heart. So hard to ignore. I'm sorry you're suffering from it. Hopefully Traveling Pants ends up to be good stuff. And HOW ARE YOU PATIENT ENOUGH to LISTEN for SO LONG? I get tired and grumpy and bored and hungry when I have to listen to audiobooks. Even whilst multitasking.

Jasprit, you awesomely kind girl! That teddy on the keychain is ADORBS. Newest favorite thing ever of the moment. I'm most excited to see your reaction on BEING FRIENDS WITH BOYS, because I've forgotten what it's about but I'm still in love with title. It must be good. I NEED YOU TO TELL ME.

Don't worry, this isn't spam! Just a really long comment that I expect you to read! Happy reading nonetheless :D

Nice stack of books this week! Man, I want to do a swap with you one day! I've had Don't Breathe a Word on my shelf for awhile - need to read that soon! I'm jealous of your weather! It's cold & rainy in England - so gloomy! :D Oh, yea & you commented on my stack about Pushing the Limits... I agree. It's not THAT great so far... it's alright, but there are some things that don't pan out. Hope you enjoy your books or at least the Sisterhood narrator goes faster lol!

What a great haul, Mandee! :) Jasprit rocks! <3 Being Friends With Boys is one of those books that's been on my list for quite some time now that's kinda in the middle, but one that I would love to read if given the opportunity. It's gotten a ton of mixed reviews so, me being the persistent little bugger that I am, I HAVE to get my hands on it and see what I think. Having said that, can't wait to read your review! The Space Between Us seems really interesting as well, one of the slightly different contemporary novels. Enjoy your lovely haul this week Mandee, and I look forward to some great reviews! :)

That's a pretty awesome book swap parcel :) Being Friends With Boys sounds great, and I love books about sibling relationships so I hope you also enjoy The Space Between Us! Glad you found the 'missing' audiobook so you can keep listening in order, my library's online catalogue is being updated at the moment so I just have to go to my local branch and hope for the best at the moment! Stay cool (in the heat, not in a throwback 90s kinda way).

What a great trade you made with Jasprit! I've had Don't Breathe a Word for nearly a year now, and you'll probably still get to it before me. The Space Between Us and Being Friends with Boys also look good.

Enjoy!

I love getting book packages in the mail. It's so much fun!

Boo to the bad narrator on The Sisterhood books. I've never read them either but you're right - E loves them. Also, Jasprit sent you lovely books! I haven't read any of them, but they're all on my TBR too! As always, LOVE seeing you in your vlog. :) xoxo
